Bicentennial Quarter Value
Bicentennial Design
This Bicentennial features an R on Washington's chin due to a previous off center strike. The rim of the coin from the previous strike also is visible. I have up to 400x magnification and can make out distinct die characteristics whithin the R on the chin that has doubling strait west on the R on his chin. Whats it worth?? USA Coin Book Estimated Value of 1976-D Washington Quarter is Worth $6.32 or more in Uncirculated (MS+) Mint Condition. Click here to Learn How to use Coin Price Charts. Also, click here to Learn About Grading Coins. The Melt Value shown below is how Valuable the Coin's Metal is Worth (bare minimum value of coin). Since the Washington quarter was constructed with a bold design and wasn't redesigned until the 1776-1976 Bicentennial release and the Statehood quarters starting in 1999, there are no design changes or flaws as there have been in other US coins.
What This Coin Looks Like (Obverse, Reverse, Mint Mark Location, Special Features, etc.):
The bicentennial Washington quarter features a 1776-1976 date on the obverse and a colonial drummer on the reverse of the coin to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the United States of America. This coin was produced in both years of 1975 through 1976 so there were no 1975 coins.
This particular version is the special 40% silver Mint Edition of the Bicentennial Quarter. Proof silver coins with a mirror-like surface were produced as depicted in the image above. In addition: A business strike silver uncirculated edition of this coin was also produced (does not have the mirror-like surface). An example of the uncirculated 40% silver edition bicentennial quarter is depicted below in the example image:
